Auto Repair Starts At The Bottom With Your Tires

August 16, 2012 by Denver Express Car Care Leave a Comment

When you use something every day, its easy to take it for granted.

That is the life of your car. Whether inside your garage or outside your door, you never give it a thought as you run out to head to an appointment.

Yet like everything else in your life, your auto’s condition is dependent upon how well you maintain it throughout the year. A little TLC along the way will ensure its in top shape every time you need it.

Repairs can take place under the hood – but they also take place on other parts of your car. The tires of your auto are essential to the operation of your vehicle. Without good tires, no matter how well your car runs, you cannot get from place to place. It is essential to your safety and the safety of others that you make sure your tires are in good shape for driving.

While ensuring that the tread on a tire is sufficient to avoid blowouts and road-hazard flats, you cannot always tell the shape of a tire by the tread. Aging tires are just as risky as balding tires. A tire with great tread may actually be several years old – and the rubber compound in the tires may be deteriorating. Just like a rubber band cracks as it gets older, so can a tire.

To ensure safety, it is essential that you only put good, new “shoes” on your car. Yes, new tires are more expensive than used tires. However, you may not be able to tell on your own how old a tire is – and the seller may not have any idea how old they are either. You can avoid this risk by only buying new tires for your car.

It is also essential that you have your tires inspected on a regular basis to gauge the wear and tear on the tire. A professional can also help you determine how old your tires are – if they are too old, have them replaced as soon as possible.

Your safety is not something to mess around with – and the tires on your car play a key role in your overall safety. Instead of saving a few bucks and taking a risk with your life or the lives of others, invest in quality, new tires – you just might be saving a life.
