Can Simple Auto Repair Techniques Add Value To The Life Of Your Car?

April 6, 2012 by admin Leave a Comment

Are you one of the many people looking not only for ways to save money, but also for tips on how to extend the life of the things you have?

One great way to extend the life of your car is by having your auto repair technician do a simple service called a transmission flush.

Your engine is filled with a variety of different parts. From gears to hoses and everything in between, your engine is the place that keeps your car moving throughout your busy days. As long as everything runs, you probably don’t give it much thought. Until something breaks.

Instead of waiting for things to wear down, a transmission flush is a simple way to breathe new life back into your car. A transmission flush utilizes a flushing technique where the mechanic will pump new transmission fluid into your car’s system while flushing out the old.

Flushing your car has another benefit. As a part of the process, a diagnostic test will be performed on your car initially before the flushing. This can reveal what condition your car is in, and if you have potential problems that can be addressed before the flushing process. Things that may further enhance the life of your car.

Flushing your transmission is not something you do on a regular basis as you would an oil change. Cars are now built using “long life transmission fluid” that will allow your car to function well more many thousands of miles. Most car manufacturers suggest a car should be flushed anywhere from 80,000 to 100,000 miles, depending on how you drive your car. If you are unsure, check your auto manual. Or better yet, talk with your auto repair mechanic. He can make suggestions for you to help you extend the life of your car.
